Solar batteries are like any kind of battery. They can be a little… quirky, sometimes. They can run out of power quicker or slower than you might expect; they can charge quicker or slower than you might expect; but why?
The most common reason is if your battery has a higher load than normal. The more electricity you use, the quicker it will drain. Check that there isn’t something using up lots of energy that you don’t know about, like an electric heater that’s been left on. Apart from that, cold weather makes batteries of all kinds less efficient, as does the age and condition of the battery.
Regular monitoring of your solar PV system can help identify issues that may be causing your battery to discharge more rapidly than usual. So don’t skimp on maintenance!
